Actor Anshuman Jha’s Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele and Midnight Delhi have been selected for the Indian International Film Festival of Boston (IIFFB) and will be played on the big screen in Boston as the closing night film at IIFFB 2021 on September 26.
Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele, which also stars Zareen Khan, will be screened on the closing night of the IIFFB, on 26 September. The film was released on Disney+ Hotstar in May.
The dynamic and versatile Anshuman Jha is known for his bold cinematic choices. His next release Midnight Delhi Directed by Raakesh Rawat, which remained stuck with the censor board for over a year, has bagged a spot at the IIFFB too along with a spot at the Chicago South Asian International Film Festival.
‘Midnight Delhi‘ is a film exploring one cruel night in Delhi. It tells the entangled stories of several troubled souls, whose fates are sewn together carrying all the possible versions of truth each version as real as the last one. It says about how a little change in intent can bring out completely different personalities. Midnight Delhi is a night in search of fortunes, love and success, longing for hope and self-preservation, a night of chaos and judgment questioning the vulnerability and existence of reality.
Speaking about both films, Jha said, “Midnight Delhi is a special film. It’s about one night in Delhi and this character ‘Blademan’ took me to some dark places. I am grateful to IIFFB and CSAIFF for giving the film a platform. As for Hum Bhi Akele… I am happy it will be on the big screen in Boston which is what it was meant for originally. Hope the LGBTQ community in Boston showers it with the same love that the 10 million-plus viewers have on OTT.”
